Springfield 1 v 3 Chelmsford City 'A'

After a weeks delay The boys were really itching to get the previous defeat to the Whites out of their system . A blustery day greeted us on our first visit to Boswells School but an excellent pitch considering all the recent rain .

Chelmsford City 'A' 1 v 2 Chelmsford City 'B'

First game of 2008 and its Derby Day . The pitch looked in excellent condition considering the rainfall we have had recently and despite the early kick off the game attracted quite a crowd . Both teams were missing vital players and the match promised to be a very tactical affair with the Clarets currently top of the UNOFFICIAL LEAGUE and the Whites second there was everything to play for .

Stones Athletic 1 v 3 Chelmsford City 'A'

The Final league match before Christmas took part on a very heavy dug up pitch . The City boys started brightly doing their best to pass the ball around . Stones themselves played a good passing game and broke away often only to find the hugely impressive Oliver Holmes in defense and Tom Clayton in goal blocking their way . City Scored early doors through a nice exchange and finish by Ben T . Some further good teamwork and City were two in front after a nice Callum Blanks finish . City lead the game at Half time 2-0

Chelmsford City 'A' 3 v 0 Kelvedon Hatch

The return match against Kelvedon coming a week after was always going to make things slightly awkward , playing a team so soon is hard as they know your players and style of play well enough to cause problems . With this in mind , and the fact that Benjamin and Harrison were away on holidays we decided to take a bit of a gamble and play a new formation we've been working on from the start of the match .

Kelvedon Hatch 0 v 4 Chelmsford City 'A'

Cold and blustery seems to become a regular feature in the match reports these days . City traveled to their farthest opponents Kelvedon Hatch . The first half kicked off with City playing their familiar 1-4-1 formation with Callum Blanks again leading the line . City kept posession well and tried hard to forge out chances but the conditions seemed to be making the ball heavy and difficult to pass and cross , a few goalscoring chances were made but it was a single well worked team effort scored by Harrison French which took City into the break leading 1-0 .

Chelmsford City 'A' 1 v 0 Wilvale

Extremely cold morning for a game of football . With minus temperatures the evening before the pitch recovered well to be ready for the 10am kick off . City started the game with a major surprise , Callum Blanks our usual goalkeeper was playing Centre forward with Thomas Clayton dropping into goal . The first half was an excellent exhibition of Youth football with City attacking well but Wilvale defending resolutely , keeping position and breaking up play . City looked most likely to score but when the half drew to a close at 0 - 0 the score seemed fair .

Danbury Juniors 0 v 1 Chelmsford City 'A'

This match took place on a blustery morning although the temperature remained mild . City came into the game having conceded just two goals in open play since the first game of the season so confidence remained high if they could score .

Chelmsford City 7 v 0 Springfield

A beautiful autumn morning greeted our visitors today Springfield . City started the game with the strange sight of Lewis Tregent playing the center forward role , this was later pointed out as a tactical experiment by the management team and one that was to only last ten minutes . Upon switching back to his customary midfield role City looked more balanced and immediately created chances , inevitably the opening scorer was Marley Okosi with a textbook finish .

Writtle Minors 'A' 0 v 4 Chelmsford City 'A'

City went on their travels again on a windy wintry morning against local rivals Writtle Minors , winners of our Tournament back in May . City started the game kicking uphill against a strong wind . Playing to a high tempo the boy passed the ball well and created chances early on but each time coming up against a deep Writtle defense and a goalkeeper in fine form . Some wonderful crosses into the box were not met and chances went begging . The first half finished goalless but with the creative play and movement so good no tactical changes were needed at half time .

Chelmsford City Clarets 1 v 1 Chelmsford City Whites

Sunshine and a large crowd greeted both teams for the first derby of the season . The Whites started quickly and put the Clarets under early pressure . However it was the Clarets who opened the scoring after just 62 seconds with a well struck Marley Okosi strike into the top corner leaving the Whites keeper no chance at all . The Clarets kept up the pressure but seemed to lack their normal composure in front of goal either shooting early or just missing out on a final pass through .
