Springfield 1 v 3 Chelmsford City 'A'

After a weeks delay The boys were really itching to get the previous defeat to the Whites out of their system . A blustery day greeted us on our first visit to Boswells School but an excellent pitch considering all the recent rain .
Much work has been put into training of late to bring the team back to basics , and the game against Springfield was a superb example of this being put into practice . Some superb short passing and moving enabled the boys to open up an early lead . Backed up by some superb defending the lad grew in confidence and soon doubled the winning margin to come into half time at 2-0 .
Second half and the management felt comfortable enough to make multiple changes without weakening the team , once again some superb passing and defending enabled some good football all round , it wasnt long before City hit a third goal and effectively killed the game off . This report couldnt be complete without mentioning Springfields response , the boys never dropped their heads and were rewarded with a superb effort from distance . A previous corner almost resulted in a mirror goal if it wasnt for a quite superb Benjamin Davidson save in the City goal to dive and push the ball up and over the crossbar . Well done to all involved , a credit to mini soccer
