This match took place on a blustery morning although the temperature remained mild . City came into the game having conceded just two goals in open play since the first game of the season so confidence remained high if they could score .
Kicking downhill to start the game was fast paced and box to box . Danbury set themselves out to defend deep and were disciplined in their positioning , City enjoyed the majority of possession but struggled to create any real chances . Danbury broke well and quickly and seemed most likely to break the deadlock through some excellent corners , however City kept the ball out with some last gasp challenges and fine blocks . The score at half time remained 0-0 .
Now uphill City looked to be more disciplined and pass the ball faster in the last third of the pitch . Again City enjoyed possession and put in some good crosses only to be thwarted by the deep Danbury defense and solid goalkeeper . The breakthrough came mid half when Marley Okosi went past his defender down the left and whipped shot come cross which deceived the Danbury keeper and City took the lead . The rest of the half was again back and forth with Oliver Holmes and Callum Blanks remaining solid at the back for City and Danbury's defense still doing a fine job for the home team .
Man of the match . Thomas Ellis , good first half performance with some good defensive midfield play .
