Chelmsford City 7 v 0 Springfield

A beautiful autumn morning greeted our visitors today Springfield . City started the game with the strange sight of Lewis Tregent playing the center forward role , this was later pointed out as a tactical experiment by the management team and one that was to only last ten minutes . Upon switching back to his customary midfield role City looked more balanced and immediately created chances , inevitably the opening scorer was Marley Okosi with a textbook finish . The game flowed well with Springfield breaking fast on several occasions only to be thwarted by Isaac Campbell in form at the back for City . Ben T struck before the break to take City 2-0 into Half-Time
Second half and City made numerous positional changes but the football continued to flow nicely , Ben T helped himself to a second half brace to claim a hattrick and show he really is back to his best up front , Marley Okosi struck another and most pleasing Benjamin Davidson showed he knows where to be at the right time to finish a wonderful move . The only other point of note was a Penalty claim when Cities Keeper now playing outfield was in a penalty area clash with a Sprinfield opponent , and by coincidence his school friend , but Referee Bond considered the tackly 50/50 and play continued without appeal .
Man of the match Ben T , wonderful to see our striker returning to form and scoring for fun , Special mention to Thomas Clayton for his exceptional performance in defense , a position totally new to him
