A couple of events happened yesterday and both well attended. The first was the meet and greet with the first Team. It was a shame that there was a lack of communication over the event, although we learned that this was down to the main club. Thank you to all of you for your patience and co-operation. We managed to get some photos done with some of the First Team, but on top of that, some of us managed to get some Team photos out on the pitch. These will soon be available on the Website. We had a fairly good session out on the pitch and special thanks to Ollie Berquez for staying on to give our boys a mini session and even having the time to sign a couple of autographs.
On to the bowling in the evening and all the boys seemed to really enjoy themselves and they all let their hair down and the final event of the season. Fortunately, all of them behaved themselves and I have scanned the News of the World this morning and there are no unwanted or shameful headlines!
Well done to the following for all scoring strikes (in no particular order): Thomas E, Tom N (1st one of the night), Benjamin (with 2), Harrison F (with 2) and Tom C. Congratulations, too, to all those who picked up spares and I saw at least 2 boys that managed it with split pins – very difficult to master.
I picked up the printout afterwards and can reveal the scores to you:
Lane 17:
Ben T – 88 + 78 = 166
Harrison – 94 + 72 = 166
Isaac – 79 + 62 = 141
Marley – 99 + 76 = 175
Thomas E – 96 + 112 = 208
Tom N – 89 + 80 = 169
Lane 18
Benjamin – 111 + 97 = 208
Callum – 79 + 97 = 176
Harrison F – 85 + 111 = 196
Lewis – 76 + 84 = 160
Liam – 69 + 87 = 156
Tom C – 103 + 86 = 189
Good luck to each of you with the fun competition that Donna created using photos of the challenge match on Friday. Give it a go, if you have time and once we’re back in training at the start of next season, hand them in to either Mark, Stacey or myself and we’ll judge on the best. As I said last night, have a great summer and see you back fit and well at the end of August.
