The last week of training is upon us this week and the season culminates with the now traditional boys v parents match. It promises to be a fun spectacle, with hopefully, plenty of parents giving the spectators a good laugh. Let’s see the boys use their heads, make the ball do the work and give their mums and dads a good run around! I will be as fair as ever with my refereeing, I'm sure.
The management team aim to arrive nice and early to get the pitch marked out and goals set up, so any early arrivals will be welcome to help. In addition, help clearing up at the end will be gratefully received.
I know we’ve said it many times through the season, but a big thank you to everyone for your ongoing support and encouragement for the boys, the management and opposing teams. Well done to the boys on an excellent season; best wishes to those who have moved on to pastures new and welcome and good luck to our new arrivals.
Special thanks to Stacey for all his efforts and enthusiasm with the team. Another masterful season! Also, big thanks to Mark for not only his efforts around the pitch, but behind the scenes with money, organsising us all and this excellent website. Well done both of you, it has been great fun again this year.
I managed to get along to the friendly this week against Ipswich, with Stacey and we were impressed with the levels of skill and fitness on display. For all of you who do get along to 1st team games, I think you are in for another interesting season ahead, with the promise of some excellent football on show. As for the 1st team, tomorrow’s training and photo session with them will be a chance to learn a little of the semi-pro life and maybe get a few tips and tricks. Maybe some autographs, too, for the fans?
Enjoy your summer break. Stay safe in whatever you do, but have fun. See you tonight.
