A lot has already been written about the tournament at the Stadium, so very briefly, thank you to EVERYONE who volunteered to help out. The club needs volunteers for all these kind of events and you didn't let us down. Well done to the boys for their best performance in a tournament. I really enjoyed refereeing the games in the morning, depite the mock abuse I received from the supporters of the Whites. All in good fun and there was one point in particular when I gave a free kick against them in their opponent's half, from which they almost imeediately scored when the ball came to them! I stayed all day, leaving just as the U9 and U10 finals finished. Very hot and sunny and next time, I'll wear a hat!

Mark won't be with us tonight, as he's off to the coast. Stacey and I have decided, therefore, that we will run a second fun competition night. This time, no teams, as we will be down on numbers. I have worked out 4 individual events, but you'll have to wait and see what Burning Rubber, Cones of Fire, Pingball and Old Favourite are all about. Needless to say, prizes on offer for each event this time, as well as overall winner. Of course, you know by now, there are never any losers. Oh, and it might be that there is an extra entrant in the form of Joe, Stacey's youngest, but for some of the events, he might play his joker!

We then look forward to the last week of training next week, where fun again is the name of the game and the parents will get to join in and hopefully, make fools of themselves! Stacey and I have agreed that we will share the reffing and playing, so a half each. There, we've sorted our excuses out! Not only should you bring oils, drinks and respirators, but maybe cameras, too!

OK. See you tonight.
