Tournament

It looked like we were set fair for another hot and sunny day for another Chelmsford City tournament, but after looking at the forecast, I'm not so sure. We were so lucky with the impromptu tournament that Steve and Stacey organised when the Stadium tournament had to be postponed was played out in glorious sunshine. A little too hot for us all to be running around in, but this time around, we should all get some breaks between matches and maybe a little cooler?

I am looking forward to refereeing in the morning and maybe helping out around the place in the afternoon. I'd like to say in advance thank you to all of the volunteers who have already offered support tomorrow. Your help is invaluable. Well done.

As for the team, control is handed back to the Boss, who is back from his break, with the assured assistance of Mark. I think the idea for tomorrow is for the boys to relax and enjoy themselves. It has seemed that in past tournaments, we may have put them on edge a little and it isn’t until there is nothing to play for that they have been able to relax. We think that if we have a fairly relaxed session tonight and let them have fun tomorrow, maybe they can meet the Whites in the Final!!

By the way, good luck to our fellow Chelmsford City teams – the Whites and the Blues from the under 8s and of course, to the rest of the City teams in the other age groups.

I hope to see you tomorrow, but I will be a bit busy as one of the men in black. I have been told I can’t take my cards onto the pitch with me, which is a shame!

See you tonight.
