Sorry , couldnt resist it . Shame someone had to lose . Anyone who has experienced the penalty shoot out first hand will tell you its not a nice way to decide a tournament but its probably the only way . Ive always put every penalty ive ever taken in a serious match into exactly the same place , lower left corner just inside the post . Unsavable if hit properly but most importantly its repetitive , no lingering doubts about where to place the shot , no decisions on blasting or placing , the jobs all done and the kick can be approached with confidence .
To be honest when John Terry stepped up i did say to Wendy that it was fitting that Mr Chelsea , a man who was there before the money and lingerers , was about to win the trophy for his team . I also mentioned as Anelka strode up that here comes a mercenary who really couldnt care less .
Still nice to see the old trophy back at Old Trafford , one of my greatest footballing memories was 1999 when Roy Keane simply strode out of the tunnel trophy in hand , pitched it down on the centre circle and run off to start his warm up , whoever thought of that was a genius .

Still back to proper football .
Tomorrows tournament in Maldon is our last chance of the season to have some fun together . Win , lose or draw lets enjoy the event , play with smiles on our faces and try to emulate our premiership heroes . Got a trick up your sleeve ? why not try it out tomorrow , just dont do it near our goal !
Some new rules in place for this tournament , no kicking the ball over head height , no players allowed into the penalty areas and the keepers mut roll the ball out under arm . We will do some work on this in training tonight and see what will be tomorrow . Registration is 9am so lets get there on time , 9:15 may be too late and you may not be able to play !

Looking forwards , our presentation evening is now only a month away . Lots of nervous toilet trips , sweaty palms , clinging to mum or dad , and i bet the lads will be just as bad ! ! ! I hope you all enjoy the event , take lots of photos , its evenings like this that make the whole thing worthwhile .
